A Tribute from the British Book Trade to honour the life of Fred Bass and his lifetime’s work buying and selling books. Annie Quigley created a presentation leatherbound volume of photos and comments book which was presented to the Bass family and and staff at the Strand Bookstore in New York.

Fred had part owned Bibliophile with Bill Smith in the 1980s and sold his share to Annie in 1991. He oftern sadi he regretted doing that! They remained firm friends for the next 25 years, hoovering bargain books and swooping on books fair stands "like herons". Fred will be greatly missed.
