ZOOBORNS

An insanely adorable book featuring the cutest creatures out there! Based on the hugely popular website ZooBorns.com, founders Andrew Bleiman and Chris Eastland had access to over 1,500 photos of baby animals taken at accredited zoos and aquariums from all over the world. Mali the Asian elephant in Melbourne Zoo was born in 2010 and is an endangered species. Her playfulness makes her really stand out and her huge eyes and twisted trunk (made up of over 40,000 different muscles) splashing around in water is a beautiful picture. A pair of tiny frogmouth owls, an aye aye, Emperor tamarin, wildcats, beluga whales, Bengal tigers, baby Western Lowland gorilla with his expressive face and lined eyes, armadillo, short-beaked echidna (whose newly hatched babies are called puggles!), tiny panda, the enormous ears of the fennec fox, pygmy hippos, and the toothless tamandua with its 40cm long tongue to eat up 9000 ants a day. Providing interesting animal facts both generally about the species and specifically about the details of the individual birth, the book is as educational as it is gloriously entertaining and super cute.
