HIDE AND SEEK: Book 2

A junkie is found dead in an Edinburgh squat, his body laid out with unsettling, ritual precision. Nearby, a young woman with a troubled past is on the run, reckless, frightened, and desperate to stay ahead of whatever is chasing her. Few seem to care. These are the forgotten people of the city: addicts and outcasts, cut adrift from a society busy celebrating prosperity, glossy new developments and a carefully marketed "quality of life". Only Detective Inspector John Rebus senses something darker at work - something too dangerous to dismiss and too disturbing to leave buried. As he digs deeper, he begins to see how this brutal crime may be connected to the city's bright new world above where ambition and corruption sit uncomfortably close. What begins as a grim investigation soon becomes a fight for survival, as Rebus finds himself confronting a hidden evil that threatens not just his case, but his life. 261 page paperback.
