THE RATS

Book one of the bestselling classic trilogy from the Master of Horror first published in 1974. It was only when the bones of the first devoured victims were discovered that the true nature and power of these swarming black creatures, with their razor-sharp teeth and their taste for human blood, began to be realised by a panic-stricken city. For millions of years, man and rat had been natural enemies, but now for the first time - suddenly, shockingly, horribly - the balance of power had shifted. With fleshed-out backstories, the relentless nature of the antagonists creates genuine fear, and the novel certainly shows what could happen following nuclear testing or God forbid, a war. 198 page paperback reprint.
