ONE LAST THING: How to Live with the End in Mind

Courageous, balanced and wise, the book lists the practical ways that we can prepare for death and offers the gentle words to raise the topic with our loved ones while also consulting leading experts to educate us on the topic of assisted dying. This uplifting memoir that reminds us we should relish every moment. After her diagnosis of young-onset dementia in 2014, Wendy Mitchell, bestselling author and advocate, spoke affectionately about the liberating feeling that came with having open conversations and confronting life's obstacles head on. In the years leading up to her death, Wendy set out to have what would be her most important conversation - to explore what options are available and what options are denied at the end of one's life. At the age of only 58, Wendy was shocked to discover the lack of awareness about dementia and vowed to spend her time raising awareness as she confronted major changes that transformed her own world. A book to give hope and courage, there are telling characters such as a Baroness with her sanctimonious attitude, and Dr Forrest in California who works with great dignity in the dying movement helping people end their lives legally; she is a breath of compassion and understanding. 227 page paperback.
