Eight classic horror stories re-written with utterly brilliant modern almost 3D artworks making use of coloured paper backgrounds, line art coloured into a theme, and with plenty of scars and blood and gravestones and deathly characters. The eight stories are The Masque of the Red Death by Edgar Allan Poe, Dracula for some vampire fever, The Monkeys for some crawling from the grave, Red Riding Hood from dark fairy tales, Frankenstein and the Birth of a Monster, Vasilisa the Daughter and the ancient art of magic, Whistle and I'll Come to You for some Victorian ghosts and Bluebeard for blood, guts and gore. Matt Ralphs' version of Red Riding Hood is written as a crimson homage to slasher horror films and delves into inspiration from ancient superstitions, folklore and religions.
