Unlike Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and John Bonham, who appeared happy to explain their personal sigils when asked, Jimmy Page's choice to withhold the meaning of 'ZoSo' only resulted in further enhancing its almost monastic charisma. It was the symbol he had chosen to represent himself upon the release of Led Zeppelin IV in 1971. 'The four musical elements of Led Zeppelin making a fifth is magick into itself. That's the alchemical process.' Best known as the mastermind behind the great rock group Led Zeppelin, Jimmy Page was their leader, producer, principal songwriter and guitarist, who shaped not only the sound of 70s hard rock, but also created a musical and artistic legacy that stands proudly to this day. A 'teenage wonderkid', by the height of the swinging sixties Page was one of London's most in-demand session musicians appearing on hundreds of singles and albums from Shirley Bassey's Goldfinger to the bluesy grit of Them's 'Baby Please Don't Go'. In 1966 he joined the Yardbirds, contributing greatly to the rise of psychedelic and hard rock and laying the foundations for the advent of the mighty Zep and the multi-platinum sales they later enjoyed. When Led Zeppelin finally crashed to earth in September 1980 with the sad death of drummer John Bonham, Jimmy Page carried on, first as a composer for 1982's Death Wish II, then as million-selling bandleader with The Firm, and later in the decade as a solo artist. His collaboration with singer and friend Robert Plant laid the groundwork for the group to return one last time joining original bassist John Paul Jones and Bonham's son Jason for a legendary appearance at London's O2 Arena in 2007. Since then Whole Lotta Love was played by Jimmy at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and he jammed with the Foo Fighters at Wembley Stadium. Using new and exclusive interviews, Martin Power tells the full story of Jimmy's long career through candid conversations with his friends, managers and musical collaborators and weaving existing Page interviews into the fullest account yet of the guitarist's life until his appearance at the Stairway To Heaven court case. Enjoy again blues twisting into new and exotic shapes and albums like Unledded and 1998's Walking Into Clarksdale. A magnificent tome of 728 pages including 24 pages of colour and mono rare photos of the leader and legend.
