ANGELS FLIGHT

When the body of an African-American lawyer Howard Elias is found inside one of the cars on Angels Flight, a railway in downtown LA, there is not a detective in the city who will touch the case. Elias was infamous for his lawsuits alleging racism by LAPD police officers. He was murdered on the eve of a sensational trial representing Michael Harris who stands accused of rape and murder. Harry Bosch, facing a suspect list that includes half the department, is assigned the case. Elias's civil action was supposed to expose the LAPD and reveal the real killer. Now it's all down to Harry Bosch to dig deep into a minefield of suspicion and hate buried in his own back yard. As usual with this writer there are very believable characters like the sad and deeply troubled ex-cop Frankie Sheehan to the politically ambitious Deputy Chief Irvin Irving. 400 page paperback.
