WORLD'S GREATEST AIRSHOWS: DVD and Book Set

WORLD'S GREATEST AIRSHOWS: DVD and Book Set

BRUCE VIGAR    Book Number: 85079    Product format: Unknown

Air shows are one of the world's most popular non-sporting outdoor attractions and although flight is over 100 years old, air shows and aviation are nearly as old as film itself. From the very first air show held at Rheims in France in 1909, air shows have been the subject of countless films, many of which have long since disappeared or survive as tantalising fragments. But many more have survived including film from that very first air show and on the DVD in this box set package is a programme of not only individual air shows, but also the displays that have made them successful and memorable. There are military jet demonstration teams, national display teams like the RAF Red Arrows or USAF Thunderbirds and incredible solo aerobatics as well as restored historic warbirds. Filming too has developed as much as aircraft technology, enough to take the viewer right inside the cockpit during a display. The accompanying softback book contains superb colour photographs of celebratory displays such as Bastille Day in France and 16 Hunters of RAF 111 Squadron the Black Arrows among them. Exhilarating action in a presentation box measuring 10¾" x 7½".
