Return Of Creature

Hi, Annie - This a bit of a Return-Of-Creature-From-The-Lagoon, because I last had dealings with you about seven years ago, when you very beautifully "made my day" . My daughter had presented me with a surprise day out - a visit to your previous premises - for my 90th birthday! You featured it on a front page of Bibliophile News, and I still think fondly of it. The subsequent few years have been a bit grim, but I'm through those now, and living comfortably in a nursing home - a very good one. Joke is that they have asked me to create a sort of in-house magazine for the residents and staff. The first thing I thought of was "I'll need Bibliophile's help to give me a good supply of material." Thus I have just sent in an order and will be renewing my custom I hope. Yes, that makes me 97 years old, but don't go away - I'm still approachable - just - and write a piece every day so as to reassure myself that the marbles are still more or less there. The other thing my daughter did for me on my 90th was to teach me to use a computer, and it is a wonderful window onto the world. It also means my order was sent to you online - magic! I look forward to renewing our relationship, which I have held onto by receiving your publication each month. Cheers! - Martin Sterne.

RE: Return Of Creature

Martin, you have made MY day!
Just back from buying new goodies at a book fair and read your delighful message. I am happy you are settled now and even happier to help in any way I can. Speaking as Editor to Editor, you have my permission to re use any of our book reviews or exchange of correspondence.
You bought a copy of Easy PC way back in April 2005, so I am very pleased to hear you are now confident and competant and I thank you for the lovely order for books you have just placed online. They are being packed today. I shall have a Book Of Quotes popped inside (no cahrge) so you have a nice handy supply of funny and pithy bon mots from our catalogues over the years.
And it goes without saying (but I will) that you are an honorary member of our elite 88 Club!
I don;t know if you spotted it, but you feature on our Gallery - not Rogues nor Lagoon Creatures - but Who's Who of Bibliophile. See About Us, Who's Who. I will add an "E" to your surname in the caption before I forget! You made the final selection of great photos from the past as I love that photograph of your 90th birthday! Happy 97th Martin - it'll soon be our 300th catalogue birthday too (April). Annie x
