A new style of Detection

I am coming to the end of a marvellous read, the book, the Eyes of Max Carrados is well written but takes some time [for me, atleast] to get used to the grammar and style of writting, [it was written by Ernest Bramah in the early 1900s. This book is a compilation of Ernest Bramah's short stories featuring the blind detective Max Carrados [ of whom I have not heard before]. For the lovers of Sherlock Holmes and the like, although Max is uniquely different, it is well worth picking up.

RE: A new style of Detection

I'll second this post. I don't read/enjoy much detective fiction but this book was great fun and my copy won't be going to the charity shop any time soon. Don't know why these stories aren't more widely known. I've just looked & it's still available here; it's certainly worth considering.
