Commissioned by John Bartholomew & Son, the renowned Edinburgh cartographers, production took 15 years and had 112 map plates. With many revisions between 1955 and 1960, this present edition has been resigned to give a less Euro-centric view and a more balanced view of the world and revised to reflect the latest geopolitical changes.
