CRAFTY DOLLS

CRAFTY DOLLS

JANE BULL    Book Number: 89915    Product format: Hardback

This practical and attractive doll book gives you dozens of possible variations on four basic doll types. First up is the Lottie Rag Doll, which you can easily sew using the templates provided and a piece of fabric about a foot square. Lottie is dressed in bright summer clothes, a red jacket and pink flowered skirt with red felt shoes. Her brothers wear jeans and striped sweaters and Lottie herself has a striking sweater to go with her winter outfit. Accessories include knitted hats, scarves and bags. Alternatively, she can be a ballerina in a tutu or a fairy with wings and a crown, and mixing and matching creates endless different Lotties. Shelly the Mermaid is an extremely colourful variation and her template is even easier, requiring just a tail rather than legs. The next section introduces Yarn Dolls, knitted all in one with stripy bodies. Yellow hair can be made from wool and the features sewn on, while a matching skirt and top is also knitted. The pattern can easily be adapted to create a superhero with a Batman-style cape and mask. If knitting is a lot of effort, gloves can be cut up and sewn to create similar characters including Daisy Doll, Mister Orange and Little Baby. Topsy-turvy and Tiny dolls to knit include Ninja Kid, Zombie Alien and Cool Dude. The final section covers felt dolls, which can be flat, stuffed or in the form of finger puppets. 20.6 x 24cm, 124pp, colourfully illustrated, step by step instructions.
