RYAN WHITE    Book Number: 85682    Product format: Paperback

The Boss, Born in the USA, by the late 1960s Bruce Springsteen was gigging around the Jersey Shore, building a reputation as an electrifying performer. He eventually secured a recording contract and debut album Greetings from Asbury Park, NJ in 1973. Its follow up The Wild, The Innocent and The East Street Shuffle were well received with critics but struggled commercially. 1975 saw the release of Born to Run which introduced the characters whose lives he would trace for decades. 18 studio albums, iconic songs, sold-out world tours, his legendary live appearances are often over three hours long and his albums intensely thought-provoking and exciting. The book takes us chronologically through Springsteen's career beginning with his early days followed by an album-by-album account of his studio recordings with contributions and quotes from those who worked on the sessions including musicians, studio personnel and Springsteen himself. Huge full page colour photographs show his collaborations, on stage and off and throughout there are large quotes and facts about his activism, attitude, promises and performances. Fantastic rare images, this is a visually beguiling and atmospheric definitive book on The Boss. 288pp, 10" x 8½". Colour.
