GREAT MINDS: GALILEO'S GLOBE PUZZLE

PROFESSOR PUZZLE    Book Number: 83152    Product format: Unknown

Separate the real wooden, polished pieces - can you rebuild the globe? Galileo Galilei (1564-1642) was an Italian Scientist and Astronomer. As well as the telescope, he also developed the compass and the thermometer. He claimed that the earth was not the centre of the universe but that the planets, including earth, orbited around the sun, a controversial theory at the time which led to him spending the rest of his life under house arrest. This puzzle pays tribute to his genius. The charming antique-design gives the puzzle an aged look. It's a challenge to rebuild the separate wooden pieces into a globe. Difficulty rating: 4 (a challenge, but instructions are provided), ages 12 to adult. diagram included and website for help. Presentation cube box.
